I did a bad thing

This is my husband's car.  He used to let me drive it.  The other night, I used it to drive the missionaries home.  As I was backing out of the garage there was a horrible scraping noise.  I had gotten a little too close to the garage and pulled this section of his car off.  He is pretty mad.  So sorry honey.  I told him he could take it out of my allowance, but I don't get an allowance.  I better get used to the minivan, because that will be all I drive from now on.  I feel like a teenager that wrecked her dad's car.  This is probably why my dad never let us kids drive his car.

Saturday Thoughts

Our playroom is a complete and total disaster and has been for several days.  That cute little girl is to blame.  I am not doing a good job teaching her to clean up either, because when the time does come to clean up, she ends up hurting more than helping and I send her up to her room so we can get the job done quicker.  She's lucky she's cute.

Mike got some new glasses a few weeks ago and I think he looks great.   Quite a change from his old glasses that had no frame and really blended into his face.  I love the new ones.

It's not all about the kids

I got my hair cut last Saturday.  I probably got about 8-10 inches off.  My hair had gotten ridiculously long.  Obnoxiously long.  It took forever to wash, dry, straighten.  I love the new shorter look.  I just need to keep up with the cuts now.  What usually happens is that I cut it shorter and then do nothing until it gets super long again.  Its a cycle.  The last time I had it semi-short was right after Caleb was born.

Also, ignore the mole looking thing above my lip.  Its not a mole, but a zit.  Hello skin, have you heard that I am turning 30 this year (on 09/09/09!)?  Zits should no longer be a problem.  I guess I'm not the only one in this club, because I now purchase face wash that is for wrinkles and acne.  I'm sure they don't make it just for me.

Updates

Caleb
So, Caleb has been walking for 3 weeks now and I haven't posted about it!  He started walking on his 15th month birthday, January 9th.  For a week or so, he didn't use walking really as a form of transportation, but just as a fun trick.  But now he is an official walker and we are so proud.  And relieved!  I had the occupational therapists card taped to my calendar on Caleb's 16th month birthday.  That was the day he needed to be walking by, or he would need therapy.  He did it!

Maya
Here is Maya displaying a preschool creation.  Maya currently attends preschool at a nearby school, but not our neighborhood school (where Haley attends).  There is a super high demand for the preschool program at our school, and only 1 class.  If you are new to the district's preschool program (like we were last year) your application is put into a lottery system.  So, last year, our school was full by the time our application was picked and we got our third choice.  This year, we can register early, as a current student, on a first come, first served basis.  Today was the day for that.  I got my application at 8:00 AM when I dropped Maya off at school.  Today was her day to bring the treat and be the special helper.  That also means a parent can stay.  So, Mike stayed home with Haley and Caleb so I could stay at school with Maya.  At 10:30 when we were leaving, another parent asked me if I had gone to register Maya.  I said, I'm on my way to.  She said she got there at 8:20 and stood in line.  Lovely.  So, I got there at about 10:50.  No line, but I asked the lady if our school was full yet.  She said she didn't know but it was getting close.  Geez!  I just want to be able to drop 2 kids off at the same place and the same time!  Reduce my driving!  Is that too much to ask?  Apparently.  I'll see what school she got into when they send a letter in March.  Really, March?  Can't you just have a checklist and cross off spaces as people bring in their applications and tell people right away?

Haley
I am the worst photographer on the earth, so you can barely tell from this picture that one of her front teeth is pointing out at a crooked angle.  It has been this way for several weeks.  I am hoping that it falls out on its own.  Her 4 bottom teeth were removed by the dentist as her permanent teeth were already coming in behind.  This sounds like the story of my childhood.  I can't ever remember any of my teeth just falling out.  They were either removed by the dentist with a second row of teeth already behind, or my parents had to physically restrain me and pull them out when they were hanging all crazy like Haley's currently is.  Sorry you inherited my teeth Haley.  And you are in ever bigger trouble because your mom and dad are wusses and can't pull out your teeth for you.  It's you and the dentist girl.
